About Theater Mumpitz

It all began in 1980 when a small group of students realized their vision of creating an independent theatre. At first they moved as a travelling theatre from place to place, until Theatre Mummpitz finally found their permanent home in the Nuremberg Cultural Centre for Children “Kachelbau”.

The productions tell stories about special moments in everyday life, stories about journeys, stories about life and death; stories which prove that children possess courage and that they have the guts (‘Mumm’) to listen to and watch many things, because that’s what life is all about. Life can be stopped by no-one and life knows no age limits.
