Even over two centuries after Alexander von Humboldt’s celebrated expedition through the New World (1799-1804), he is well remembered on both sides of the Atlantic. This appreciation of the Prussian naturalist and his contribution to the advancement of knowledge also extends to those regions that he did not visit, which is reflected in numerous places that carry his name.

When: Friday, October 18, 2019
6:00-7:00pm: Movie “Alexander von Humboldt – I have a yearning for freedom and distant travel”

7:30-8:30pm: Lecture Talk – 250 Years of Alexander von Humboldt: The explorer, his scientific project and his relevance today.
