Exhibition opening – a joint event by the German Consulate General and the LUMAS Gallery

: Mar 30, 2017, 6pm - 8pm
LUMAS Edition Gallery Vancouver

Categories: , ,

Germany has a long and distinguished tradition in the visual arts, and continues to develop as a cultural center for contemporary and innovative photographic art. Founded in Berlin, LUMAS Gallery has provided a platform to celebrate photography as a fine art for over 10 years, with German based artists at the forefront. German Haus: Kunstwerk und Fotografie presents a selection of these artists as ambassadors of the LUMAS portfolio and representatives of the influence of German artists on the development of photography as a fine art.

One of the highlights of the event is the performance of Rosemary Siemens, a well-known violinist who has already performed four times at New York’s Carnegie Hall, played private concerts for two U.S. presidents as well as Canada’s Prime Minister and who was the first violinist to ever perform at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican since its first mass in 1483.

The German Consul General Josef Beck will host a reception at this event and we are looking forward to seeing you there!
