For those who did not have the opportunity to visit our Bauhaus exhibition in Vancouver, there is now the opportunity to do so at the University of Victoria!

BAUHAUS, DESIGN AND THE LIVABLE ANTHROPOCENE

Exhibition and Colloquium celebrating the 102nd year of the Bauhaus School

This event celebrates the innovative approach to design and architecture developed at the Bauhaus School founded in 1919. The aim is to reflect on the historical impact of this approach and explore its potential for addressing the design challenges in the times of the Anthropocene. A colloquium featuring invited speakers accompanies the bau1haus exhibition. This set of photographs by Jean Molitor present an exceptionally beautiful record of Modernist buildings inspired by Bauhaus from around the world. The photographs are being lent to UVic by the Vancouver Consulate of Germany. The show is accompanied by an inter-disciplinary Colloquium that will engage the historical importance of the Bauhaus approach and explore its value for creating a livable Anthropocene.
