RISE Professional: Research Internships in Science & Engineering • DAAD

DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service offers Master’s and Doctoral Students studying in fields related to the Natural Sciences or Engineering the chance to complete an internship in a German workplace or non-university research institution with strong connections to industry through its RISE Professional program.

All participants receive a scholarship from DAAD and an additional stipend from their host company/institution to help cover living expenses along with health insurance while in Germany and a stipend to help offset transatlantic travel costs.

Internships run between 10 weeks and six months in length, typically in the summer or fall.

Details on the internship opportunities on offer for the upcoming year will be available in the RISE Professional database starting October 15, 2025.

This year’s deadline for applications to the RISE Professional program is November 30, 2025.
