The German Studies Research Grant offered by DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service supports short-term research stays (one to two months) in Germany by students looking into cultural, political, historical, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary German affairs.

At the undergraduate level this program is open to students majoring or minoring in German language and/or cultural studies.

At the graduate level, the grant is open to students pursuing studies in the Social Sciences or Humanities and whose research intersects with the stated priority areas of this program.

Grantees must have completed two years of university-level German language studies and have a minimum of three courses in German Studies on their university transcripts (literature, history, politics or other fields) at the time of nomination.
