Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees / Cotutelle • DAAD
This program offered by DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service provides support to PhD students from any field who are enrolled at Canadian universities and whose doctoral studies are being completed in either:
- a joint supervision model
or - a formal Cotutelle arrangement with a senior scholar based in Germany.
The funds from this program can be used to support are used to support research stays at a state or state-recognised institution of higher education or a non-university research institute in Germany being carried out as part of the student’s doctoral program in the home country.
This program supplied grantees with a monthly living allowance while in Germany, a lump sum for transatlantic travel, a research allowance of € 460 and insurance coverage while in Germany.
The funding can be issued for anywhere between 7 and 24 months depending on the model of study being pursued.
