A festive week where artists from all over the world come together to celebrate street dance and its related arts. The program features live music, cyphers, high-level battles, parties, workshops, art exhibitions, conferences, and performances, offering a full immersion into the dynamic world of street dance, showcasing outstanding artists.

JOAT (Jack Of All Trades) celebrates, supports and shares street dance culture by organizing events that bring together a community of artists from here and abroad, and that invite audiences from all walks of life to discover the multiple artistic practices that have emerged from these African–American dances. Its flagship annual event is the JOAT International Street Dance Festival, coproduced by Danse Danse: a week of festivities, activities and performances at Place des Arts, in the heart of Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles entertainment district.

Festive and electrifying!

The battle, a fundamental dance event in hip-hop culture, brings together street dance artists in an atmosphere of exchange, confrontation and adrenalin.
Improvising in real time, hip-hop dancers from all over the world take turns challenging each other with daring creativity, following the rules of the JOAT game. A master of ceremonies and a DJ animate this supercharged evening.
