The 6th edition of the Calgary European Film Festival takes place Nov. 5 – 12 at the Cineplex Odeon Eau Claire Market Cinemas. This year, 18 countries will join us in celebrating European cinema in Calgary:

Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Greece and Norway.

Germany is presenting the CANDIAN PREMIERE of the year’s most popular German movie “Welcome to Germany (Willkommen bei den Hartmanns)”.
A well-off Munich family offers boarding to a refugee. Diallo from Nigeria soon makes friends among the family members, but they are tested when they have to face racism, bureaucracy and terror suspicions because of him.

Austria is represented at the Calgary European Film Festival 2017 with „Blockbuster. Life in Moving Pictures“. The moving, entertaining and funny story of a young man going through highs and lows of life while dreaming of making a movie. Made with a budget of only 20,000 Euros and the volunteer commitment of many renowned Austrian actors.
CEFF will donate 50% of the ticket sales to the St Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute in Vienna!

Share The Association for German Education in Calgary (AGEC) supports, promotes and integrates quality German language programs and cultural activities in Calgary with a range of events throughout the year. As a charitable organization with more than 10 years in operation, AGEC supports a variety of educational programs ranging from playgroups for toddlers and the German bilingual program at Bowcroft School to a scholarship fund at the University of Calgary. Events are open to everyone interested in the German language and/or the culture of German speaking countries.
